THE LINEUP:
The Polyphonic Spree - The Polyphonic Spree is a self-described choral symphonic rock group from the Dallas, Texas area. The band generally consists of a 10-person choir, a pair of keyboardists, as well as a percussionist, drummer, bassist, guitarist, flautist, trumpeter, trombonist, violinist/violist, harpist, French horn player, a pedal steel player, theremin player, and an electronic effects person. Individual members and the number of musicians, however, vary, because of the flexibility necessary in traveling with such a large band
Big Freedia - Big Freedia (pronounced “Free-da”) is the undisputed “Queen Diva” of Bounce Music, and performs six or more times a week in various venues throughout her home town of New Orleans. Bounce Music is an original urban music rising up from the intimate and fun-loving nature of the New Orleans housing projects which dominate the city’s street culture, and Freedia performs a derivative of Bounce reserved for self-proclaimed “Sissies” (a locally used name for biological men with varied and ambiguous sexual identities) that has risen to prominence in recent years and features explicitly gay and cross-dressing musicians and themes.
Girl in a Coma - Female rock trio Girl in a Coma formed in San Antonio, Texas in 2001. Their first show at Sin13 that same year left their audience in awe of the group’s extraordinary sound (courtesy of childhood friends Jenn Alva on bass and Phanie D. on drums) and Nina Diaz’s jaw-dropping vocals, which have been compared to those of Bjork and Patsy Cline. Girl in a Coma’s history began in 1993 when Phanie and Jenn found themselves seated next to each other in an art class at Longfellow Junior High School and decided to form their first band.
Junius-Boston has long been known as a breeding ground for renowned political dissidents as well as mind-expanding sonic adventurists. Carrying in that tradition is Junius–a rainy, Brit-inflected supernova of gigantic guitars, entrancing lights, and erudite lyrics, named after the pseudonym of an enigmatic late 18th century political critic. The New England coast was first illuminated by Junius’ sonic declarations in 2004
Brazos - As he likes to tell it, Martin McNulty Crane is the fifth in a long line of Martins in his family, all hailing from Texas. The first was an orphan who taught himself law, became the Attorney General of Texas and fought the KKK. The second was a lieutenant in World War I. The third was an airline pilot who raised his family in Iran. The fourth is a scientist.
Ultimate Fakebook- 3-piece power pop band from Manhattan KS who are ready to rock and it's not a question, baby.
DJ sets by Johhny Hottub (80's hair bands)
