LDAP and Spring integration

7/25/2007 6:15 AM EDT

Hi again,

i do not find much topics about ldap and team elements? am I wrong?
The only one i found is http://www.centriccrm.com/ProjectManagementIssues.do?command=Details&pid=139&iid=2837&cid=170&resetList=true
and does not tell much :)

What about ldap integration? is that possible right now?

I saw in the SVN trunk that there is spring included, are you really using it and for what?

reagrds,
Daniel

I'd like to understand some use-cases around LDAP -- it's not there in Team Elements (CTE), but it is in CRM (CCRM).

One of the capabilities of CTE is to invite non-employees to projects -- I'm assuming these are non-LDAP users as well. Would you want to enforce that all users are part of LDAP or allow for non-LDAP users too? Would you use LDAP for anything besides authorization?

Spring is being used for Client purposes and not Server purposes right now. Since CTE has a rules engine, several customers have needed JMS, JMX and WS capabilities from CTE to other systems.

- LDAP would be cool for both, auth and contacts/users. We are thinking of using zimbra which uses ldap for contacts and users.
Do you think it is a bad idea? And would that be a big problem reimplement the authorization to use ldap?

I also wonder how hard would be to add Acegi into CTE ... because
then it would be easy to change the authentication methods.

- Do you have any plan to move to spring later or any other framework, JSF? with spring web flow maybe? I know it is a lot of change but just wonder.
