Postgres/Tomcat many versions behind?

3/9/2011 11:35 AM EST

I'm doing a fresh install of ConcourseSuite 6.1. Is there any more recent documentation than this https://www.concursive.com/show/concoursesuite-support/wiki/System+Requirements since it only refers to ancient and almost unsupported versions of Postgres and Tomcat? Has anyone got good experience of running on at least Postgres 8.2.20 and Tomcat 6 (or even 7?)?

Hi Tim, seems the wiki needed some cleaning up which I've just done. The ConcourseSuite 6.1 README.txt, included in the download was already up-to-date (I've included it below).

I looked at a few our of servers and they are using Tomcat 6.0.30 and PostgreSQL versions 8.3.4, 8.2.12, and 8.1.22. I'm hopeful 8.4 works but I haven't tried 9.0, although the drivers have been updated for 9.0.

Let me know what you find out,
Matt

INSTALLATION SUMMARY

Stable versions of ConcourseSuite are deployed as a .war, and only
when all of the install and upgrade scripts have been thoroughly tested.
The developers include an automated installer and upgrader as a
compiled .war file. This .war includes end-of-cycle install and upgrade
scripts and is available at the http://www.concursive.com web site.

Deploying from a .war file:

1. Install Oracle Java (JDK or JRE 6)
http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp
2. Install the Apache Tomcat Web Application Server (Tomcat 6)
http://tomcat.apache.org
3. Install the PostgreSQL Database Server (PostgreSQL 8+)
http://www.postgresql.org
4. Copy the crm.war file into Tomcat's webapp directory
5. Access the web app using a browser at "http://localhost/crm" and
follow the web-based instructions

Thanks for that. I've installed with Postgres 8.2.20 and Tomcat 6.0.32. Seems to be running moderately well. Am opening a new discussion for next issues.
